Fragmin 2500 IU injection contains dalteparin sodium, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) used as an anticoagulant (blood thinner) to prevent and treat blood clots (deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary embolism), especially before/after surgery, and in unstable angina or certain heart conditions. It works by boosting the body's natural clot-prevention process, stopping existing clots from growing and new ones forming, and is given as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin).
